Weak and depleted zones put every operator in the same bind. The shale needs mud weight. The sand can't take it. Somewhere between those two numbers is a window that keeps getting narrower as the section gets deeper, and the cost of guessing wrong shows up as losses, non-productive time, and remedial work.
RiDrill WS1 is a wellbore strengthening additive built to widen that window. What separates it from conventional strengthening products is that it works through two mechanisms rather than one.
Most wellbore strengthening additives do a single job: they bridge. Sized particles wedge into the fracture mouth, hold it propped, and raise the pressure the formation can carry before it starts taking fluid. That mechanical component matters, and RiDrill WS1 delivers it.
The second mechanism is where the product separates itself. RiDrill WS1 carries an innovative secondary matrix that builds on the mechanical bridge and creates a low-permeability membrane across the formation. Instead of simply plugging a path, the matrix seals the near-wellbore region — strengthening the wellbore, mitigating losses, and aiding in the prevention of gas migration.
