Cementing Technologies

Lightweight Additives

  • Glass Beads

    Riteks Glass Beads are hollow microspheres for oil & gas cement applications with moderate pressure and shear. These beads allow formulators to reduce slurry densities and maintain good workability & higher compressive strengths, while favorably impacting total costs.

Compressive Strength Additives

  • Microfume 102 DM – Silica Fumed

    Microfume 102 DM is densified, constant pH, amorphous light grey silicon oxide powder. Microfume 102 DM improves the mechanical properties (compressive strength) and durability (via permeability decrease). Microfume 102 DM can be used as an extender for lightweight cements and a compressive-strength enhancer for low-temperature, lightweight cements.

  • Microfume 104 OG – Silica Fumed

    Microfume 104 OG is a semi-densified, constant pH, amorphous light grey silicon oxide powder. Microfume 104 OG improves the mechanical properties (compressive strength) and durability (via permeability decrease). Microfume 104 OG can be used as an extender for lightweight cements and a compressivestrength enhancer for low-temperature, lightweight cements. Microfume 104 OG was developed to capture the benefits of handling with a higher PAI (Pozzolonic Activity Index) for improved compressive strengths / strength development and free water control for light weight slurries.

  • Microfume 106 UM – Silica Fumed

    Microfume 106 UM is an Undensified, constant pH, amorphous light grey silicon oxide powder. Microfume 106 UM improves the mechanical properties (compressive strength) and durability (via permeability decrease). Microfume 106 UM can be used as an extender for lightweight cements and a compressivestrength enhancer for low-temperature, lightweight cements. Microfume 106 offers a lower water content and improved flowability with a higher PAI (Pozzolonic Activity Index) for improved compressive strength development for light weight slurries.

  • Riteks CSE-4 – Metakaolin

    Riteks CSE-4 is high-reactivity metakaolin pozzolan produced by thermal activation of high purity kaolin clay within a specific temperature range that meets or exceeds all of the specifications of ASTM C-618 Class N pozzolans. Riteks CSE-4 reacts with free lime produced during hydration of cement and produces additional cementitious material.

  • Riteks CSE-5 – Metakaolin

    Riteks CSE-5 is high-reactivity metakaolin pozzolan produced by thermal activation of high purity kaolin clay within a specific temperature range that meets or exceeds all of the specifications of ASTM C-618 Class N pozzolans. Riteks CSE-5 reacts with free lime produced during hydration of cement and produces additional cementitious material.

Expansion Additives

  • PREMag H – Expansion Cement Additive

    PREMag H is a post set expansion additive developed for use at temperatures above 170°F (76.7°C). PREMag H additive helps control microchannels, which provide a pathway for interzonal communication. The expansion provided by PREMag H additive develops as a function of temperature, which accelerates expansion.

  • PREMag M – Expansion Cement Additive

    PREMag M Cement Additive is a post set expansion additive with high reactivity developed for use at temperatures from 100-220°F (37.7-104.4°C). PREMag M Cement Additive can be used in freshwater slurries & salt slurries up to saturation, as well as in salt-saturated slurries at temperatures up to 300°F (148.9°C) when PREMag H Additive develops expansion too slowly.

Mechanical Property Additives

  • RadiLock 1.8mm & 3mm Acrylic Fibers

    Next generation fiber technology proven to significantly increase the mechanical properties providing more durable, longer lasting cement for the Life of the Well. This fiber is enhanced by its combination of fiber count, Specific Gravity, strength, and bonding with cement to help improve mechanical properties including tensile strengths, flexural modulus, & stress/strain on the cement.

Lost Circulations Control

  • RadiLock 3mm Acrylic Fibers

    Next generation fiber technology proven to effectively seal formation fractures improving fluid loss, loss of circulation, and return to surface properties in spacers, primary cementing, and helps prevent the need for costly remedial cementing operations. It offers dramatic improvements for areas of lost circulation in porous formations, by bridging gaps as well as aiding in support/suspension of the slurry design, with the additional benefits of improved bond logs, filter cake stability, and consistent slurry fluidity.

Dispersants

  • Riteks AFS Dispersant-RS 5 – Water Soluble Polymer Dispersant

    Riteks AFS Dispersant-RS 5 is a highly effective water-soluble polymer dispersant used in normal to high density, low fluid loss slurries that can be easily pumped in turbulent flow. This dispersant was developed to improve performance characteristics in cement slurries for workability, and is highly effective in salt and salt-saturated slurries.

  • Riteks RCD-4 – Polycarboxylate Ether (PCE) Dispersant

    Riteks RCD-4 provides superior dispersing power compared to conventional dispersants up to minimum 250°F (120°C). RCD-4 is a high-range water-reducing admixture powder utilizing superior polycarboxylate chemistry to achieve low and stable rheology at significantly lower dosage rates than with standard dispersants. This chemistry also offer a very high salt tolerance up to 18% NaCl & widens the field of potential applications significantly. RCD-4 can show retarding properties, although is often used in CaCl2 accelerated cement slurries and aids in reducing shrinkage during accelerated cement set.

  • Riteks SNS Dispersant-RS 5 – Sodium Napthalene Sulfonate Dispersant

    Riteks SNS Dispersant-RS 5 is a highly effective dispersant in cement slurries to improve the flow properties of the slurry, reduce hydraulic horsepower requirements, and allow removal of the mixing water resulting in a more dense cement slurry. With the use of SNS Dispersant-RS 5, cement slurries can be tailored for specific well requirements providing optimum slurry characteristics for any down hole condition.

Gas Migration Additives

  • Riteks GCL-4 – Self Stabilizing Latex

    Riteks GCL-4 cement additive is a liquid additive designed to lower equivalent circulating density (ECD) and impart excellent gas migration & fluid-loss control, high-temperature suspension properties, and acid resistance to cement slurries. Riteks GCL-4 additive is successful across a wide range of well conditions (60°F/16°C to 350°F/ 176.7°C circulating temperature) and is used in both primary casing cementing operations and remedial squeeze work.

  • Riteks Latex Stabilizer-RS

    Riteks Latex Stabilizer-RS is an anionic complex, which was designed to help compatibilize and stabilize polymeric solutions in latex slurries. When added to the polymeric emulsion, Riteks Latex Stabilizer-RS minimizes viscosity rise due to poor salt stability, smoothing out the compound and enhancing compound flow characteristics.

Retarders

  • Riteks LSC-RS – Calcium Lignosulfonate

    Riteks LSC-RS is a modified calcium lignosulfonate based product for primary & remedial cementing applications to retard cement across a broad range of temperatures, extend pump times, and allow the cement to set at the desired location in the production string. This additive can be used for all classes of oil well cement, and is designed for use in the 80°F-200°F temperature range.

  • Riteks RCR-200

    Riteks RCR-200 is a sodium lignosulfonate cement retarder that can be used to retard all API classes of cement as well as Pozz-Cement. RCR-200 retarder is effective in wells with bottom-hole circulating temperatures (BHCTs) up to 220°F (104.4°C). It can also withstand static temperatures up to 260°F (126.7°C). RCR-200 is particularly useful in cements containing high gel percentages, and increased concentrations of RCR-200 enhance the predictability of cement thickening times.

Spacer Technology

  • Riteks MS Spacer

    Riteks MS Spacer system is used to help mitigate lost circulation issues while cementing by minimizing induced losses & filtrate invasion and damage. Riteks MS Spacer also offers the dual functionality as a yield point (YP) modifying or tunable spacer to effectively clean the hole. The MS Spacer system forms a barrier and strengthens the wellbore wall to maintain its integrity and permeability for optimized production. Riteks MS Spacer technology enables the use of standard slurry designs and densities where highly extended or special lightweight slurries were previously required because of wells with weak fracture gradients.

Fluid Loss Polymers

  • Riteks PVOH-RS 70 S

    Riteks PVOH-RS 70 S is a non-retarding low temperature fluid loss / gas migration additive with particular applications in lightweight slurries. This additive is highly effective at exceptionally low loadings – 0.5% or below – in many slurry designs. It can also be used at 1% to 2.5% loadings in “latex cement” designs.

  • Riteks RFL-4

    Riteks RFL-4 is a specially designed Hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) that is easily dispersed and dissolved to produce solutions of varying viscosities. RFL-4 is used as a viscosifying fluid loss additive that provides consistent results, viscosity, water retention, and suspension additive. Riteks RFL-4 is a free-flowing, granular powder that dissolves readily in water to give clear, smooth solutions, which exhibit a pseudoplastic flow behavior.

  • Riteks VAE Redispersible Powders

    Riteks VAE-RS powders are water redispersible vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer powders that are readily dispersible in water and form stable emulsions to impart excellent fluid loss for fluids. These powders give enhanced gas migration control to cement slurries, with a minute effect on extending slurry set times. They help in reducing permeability with improved particle-to-particle bonding, improved cement durability during perforation and increased cement longevity. VAE-RS powders also provide improved adhesion, flexural and tensile strength, abrasion resistance, water retention, plasticity and workability.

Drilling Fluids Technologies

Fiber / Particle Technology

  • Acid Soluble Fibers – Solubond Fibers

    Innovative fiber technology that functions as an acid soluble Lost Circulation Material (LCM) and sweep material for drilling. These fibers have been manufactured to offer increased circulation by bridging and plugging off voids, fractures, and all types of permeable formations. Solubond Fibers are compatible with all oil and water based muds and emulsions, completion fluids, as well as fracturing fluid applications. These fibers are inert to drilling fluids, and the fiber is noncorrosive to equipment while maintaining high-solubility in diluted hydrochloric acid & formic acid.

  • Acrylic Fibers – Lost Circulation

    Next generation fiber technology proven to effectively seal formation fractures improving fluid loss, loss of circulation, and return to surface properties in fluids.   • Magnesium Carbonate – Acid Soluble

    Magnesite 33 is a magnesium carbonate powder ground from naturally-occurring magnesite ore and has shown positive results as an acid-soluble weighting agent and pH buffer in drilling fluids.

  • RadiLift Sweeping Agent Acrylic Fibers

    Next Generation Sweeping Agent used as a hole-cleaning agent, designed to cost effectively increase the carrying capacity of drilling fluids, in both vertical and horizontal wells, without significantly altering rheological properties. RadiLift is composed of synthetic fibers, which are stable at higher temperature applications, non-corrosive and chemically inert.

pH Buffers

  • PREMag B

    PREMag B pH buffer is used to provide alkalinity for all water based systems and is compatible with freshwater, brines, and brine polymer systems. PREMag B pH buffer will dissolve in water as pH drifts in fluids, and raise the pH of an aqueous system to 10.3. PREMag B pH buffer can be safer and less costly to use than caustic soda, especially in drill-in fluids.

Dispersants

High Temperature WB Mud Thinner

  • Riteks WB Thin-RS

    Non-polluting copolymer thinner specially designed for all types of anionic or non-ionic water based muds. WB THIN-RS will easily deflocculate the clays and minerals commonly found in most systems. Its reactivity and stability at high temperatures makes it ideal to reduce thermal flocculation.

Fracturing & Stimulation

Clay Stabilizers

  • Clay Stop

    Riteks Clay Stop is an improved modified choline chloride product for use as a liquid potassium chloride (KCl) substitute in drilling, stimulation and completion fluids. It has the ionic balance required to provide clay control protection in the reservoir, performing as well as choline chloride by itself and at a cost savings.

  • Riteks CC-100

    Riteks CC-100 is an improved modified choline chloride product for use as a liquid potassium chloride (KCl) substitute in drilling, stimulation and completion fluids. It has the ionic balance required to provide clay control protection in the reservoir, performing as well as choline chloride by itself and at a cost savings. Clays contain cations, typically sodium, within their crystalline layers that occupy base exchange positions or sites in the clay structure (lattice). Upon contact with water, these cations are solubilized resulting in clay instability and swelling. When clays swell, the permeability of the formation is diminished, which impedes production. Clay stabilizers reduce clay swelling through ion exchange, where the clay stabilizer provides a cation to replace the native, solubilized clay cation, sodium.

  • Riteks Clay Stabilizer-RS 70

    Riteks Clay Stabilizer-RS 70 is a liquid substitute for potassium chloride in oilfield applications. This permanent clay stabilizer functions by inhibiting clay swelling and mitigation, and shows superior performance at much lower levels than KCI. Clay Stabilizer-RS 70 is compatible with other drilling auxiliaries and is non-toxic and biodegradable.

Crosslinker Technology

  • Formulated Organic Titanate Crosslinkers

    Titanate crosslinkers used in combination with guar to create viscous gels with neutral to high pH fluid systems in transporting proppant. Technology can also be used in crosslinking polymers in drilling & completion applications that need highly viscous gels.

  • Formulated Organic Zirconate Crosslinkers

    Zirconium crosslinkers used in combination with derivatized guars to create a highly viscous gel for low pH and very high temperature (>300°F / 148.9 °C) fracturing applications. These crosslinked fluids improve fracture initiation & extension, improve solids carrying capacity & proppant transport, and open the formation to improve acid penetration distance.

  • Produced Water Crosslinkers

    Zirconium crosslinkers used in combination with both guar and derivatized guars in flowback/produced water to create a viscous gel for transporting proppant for neutral pH applications. These products will work in produced water as high as 300,000 TDS.

Breaker Technology

  • Low Temperature Activator

    Low Temperature Activators work in combination with the non-Hazardous Peroxide breakers to provide a predictable & controlled break, by reducing the working temperature range down to 165°F (73.9°C). This system has no effect on fluid viscosity during the pumping phase and can be tailored to affect the length of the break profile.

  • Peroxide Breakers

    Non-hazardous, non-DOT regulated liquid peroxide breakers that provide predictable, controllable breaks at temperatures from 190-250°F (87.8-121.1°C) with crosslinked and FR fluids. These breakers offer service companies a safer experience with increased ease of pumping, all while increasing functionality, predictability, and control over a key temperature range. Because of the breaking mechanism of the free radical, rebound/reheal effect is much less of an issue with crosslinked fluids.

Production Technologies

Clay Control

  • Riteks CC-100

Gelling Agent

  • Riteks GA-100

    Polysaccharide polymers, especially Xanthan Gum, are excellent additives for oilfield drilling muds and viscosified systems. Its unique high viscosity in the low shear can help low concentration of the drilling fluid suspend solids. It can increase the mud penetrative rate and suspension ability to the drilling-cuttings. Meanwhile, it can also reduce the pressure loss during drilling, stabilize the well-bore, prevent the damage to oil formation, and improve the efficiency of drilling, work-over and completion.

Scale Inhibitors

  • Riteks SC-100

    Phosphonate based scale inhibitors are used to stop scale nucleation, precipitation and adherence to production conduit, completion systems and processing facilities, the three key elements susceptible to scale problems. They are readily soluble in water, non-toxic and effective at low treatment concentrations (typically 0.5 to 20 ppm), particularly in controlling calcium carbonate and barium sulfate scale.     Riteks SC-400 is a partially neutralized low molecular weight polycarboxylate designed for use as a scale inhibitor and dispersing agent. The product can provide the following benefits: Threshold inhibitor effective at improving the solubility of calcium and magnesium salts. Dispersion of various salts and prevention of redeposition. Prevents scale formation; effective for mild to moderate calcium and magnesium scaling conditions. Prevents deposition of common mineral scales on equipment and piping surfaces, prolonging equipment life and improving process operations. Dispersing aid with excellent chlorine and thermal stability. Dispersing agent for minerals; effective at reducing mineral slurry rheology.

  • Riteks SC-401

    Riteks SC-401 has been developed as a Calcium Carbonate and Barium Sulfate scale inhibitor for use in oilfield applications. Specially formulated advanced polymer chemistry is utilized to achieve effective performance in the most challenging conditions.

    Riteks SC-401 is proven to outperform competing scale inhibitor technologies such as Phosphonates, Phosphate Esters, and simple Polyacrylates – especially so at high temperatures (up to 400 F) in the presence of high “contaminant” levels such as > 50 ppm Iron and TDS levels of > 150,000 ppm – making it suitable for treating waters from fresh to 100% produced.

  • Riteks SC-500

    Riteks SC-500 deposit control agent has been developed as a Calcium Carbonate and Barium Sulphate scale inhibitor for use in high temperature oilfield applications. Specially formulated polymer chemistry is utilized to achieve “best in class” performance in the presence of high contaminant loading and TDS conditions. Stability in temperatures up to 400ºF and pH in excess of 9.0 (such as H2S Scavenger applications) is also provided.
