GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Riteks FloTek™ 1225 is a normal setting water-reducing admixture for concrete. It is designed to facilitate the placing and finishing of concrete while providing control over set time. FloTek 1225 is also a set retarding admixture beneficial during hot weather concreting operations when control of setting time and maintenance of placeable consistency are essential.

FloTek 1225 can be used as a cost effective water reducing admixture for production of conventional slump concrete.

  • Provides variable control of setting time based on dosage rate and improves quality of concrete by decreasing water-cement ratio while maintaining slump life during extended mixing times.
  • Increases compressive and flexural strengths.
  • Reduces cracking, shrinkage, surface bleeding, and segregation.
  • Resists damage caused by freezing and thawing, aids in preventing cold joints, and reduces thermal cracking in mass pour concrete.

APPLICATIONS & BENEFITS
Dosage: Rates will vary depending on the materials used, ambient conditions and the requirements of a specific project. For best results, each admixture must be introduced separately into the concrete mix. FloTek 1225 is normally added to the concrete mix at the following dosage rates as a function of temperature. Dosage per 100 lbs. of cement:
  • 65 - 75°F - 3.5 fl oz
  • 75 - 85°F - 4 fl oz
  • 85 - 90°F - 4.5 fl oz
  • 90 - 100°F - 5 fl oz
Due to variations in concrete materials, job site conditions and applications, dosages outside of the recommended range may be required. In such cases, contact your local Riteks Construction Chemical Representative. Note: FloTek 1225 does not contain calcium chloride or any chloride-based components and is non-corrosive to reinforced, galvanized floor/roof systems or prestressing steel.

Compatability
FloTek 1225 is compatible with all types Portland cement, class C and F fly ash, silica fume, fibers, approved air entraining, water reducing and superplasticizing admixtures. FloTek 1225 can be used in white, colored and architectural concrete.
